Position Overview

The Government/NGO Fund Project Manager will oversee and coordinate projects funded by government agencies or non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This role involves ensuring project objectives are met within specified timelines and budgets while maintaining compliance with funder requirements and organizational policies. The successful candidate will have strong project management, financial oversight, and communication skills, with experience managing government or NGO-funded projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management

Develop, implement, and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables.

Coordinate and monitor project activities to ensure milestones and objectives are achieved.

Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.

  • Budget Management

Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets.

Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with funder guidelines and organizational policies.

Prepare financial reports and projections.

  • Compliance and Reporting

Ensure compliance with funder policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

Prepare and submit progress reports, final reports, and other required documentation to funders.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team, funders, and other stakeholders.

Facilitate regular project meetings and communication among team members.

Collaborate with investigators, research staff, and administrative personnel to support project objectives.

  • Grant Administration:

Assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals and applications.

Coordinate with institutional offices to ensure timely submission of grant applications and reports.

Track and manage grant awards and amendments.

  • Training and Support:

Provide training and support to project staff on funder policies, procedures, and best practices.

Assist in the development of project-related training materials and resources.

Qualifications

  • Education:

Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public administration, international development, project management, business administration). A Ph.D’s degree is preferred.

  • Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in a government or NGO setting.

Experience with government or NGO-funded projects is highly desirable.

  • Skills and Abilities:

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
